Introduction to the NIH Data Management and Sharing Policy Online
RDM Series - Part 1
In 2023, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) implemented a new Data Management and Sharing Policy that requires data management and sharing plans for all research projects funded wholly or partly by NIH grants that generate research data. This 30-minute webinar will provide an overview of the requirements for research data management and sharing and demonstrate how to use the DMPTool to create compliant plans.
Learning Outcomes:
- Describe the purpose and scope of the NIH Data Management and Sharing Policy
- Understand how to use the 2026 NIH DMSP template
- Navigate the DMPTool to locate NIH templates and begin drafting a DMS plan
