Open Access Publishing Online

Open Access (OA) publishing has redefined the way scholarly research is accessed, shared, and used. This hour-long class will introduce essential concepts associated with OA publishing and will provide attendees with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions about where to publish their work. Covered topics will include: 

  • Define open access publishing 
  • Differentiate between the major open access publishing models
  • Explain article processing charges
  • Describe key considerations regarding author rights in OA publishing
  • Identify the OA publishing support opportunities available at UConn and UConn Health
